The gambling zone: Issues and consequences

In this lesson, students work through an article outlining some of the factors influencing gambling-related behaviours. Using a quiz, students compare the mechanics of games to gambling before exploring scenarios looking at the health impacts of gambling harm and discussing strategies to minimise harm. The lesson is outlined in detail including NSW curriculum links, learning intentions, discussion points, materials required, links to supporting videos, student handouts, student and teacher reflection points. This lesson is part of the GambleAware program from the Office of Responsible Gambling, Department of Enterprise, Investment and Trade, NSW Government.
